The Monastery Museum
In the historic buildings of the former cooper and the Chimney house, a wealth of information is available to visitors about the history of the monastery before and after the Reformation, the life of the Cistercians and the cultural landscape developed by the monks.
The Early Gothic Provisions cellar in the western tract of the monastery houses a lapidarium, a collection of carved stones from the monastery's original stonemasonry. The exhibition also includes explanations (in German) of building and construction in the middle ages.
Opening Times
March 1 to October 31
Daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Guided tours in German start at 11:15 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Group and English-language tours by prior arrangement.
November 1 to February 28
Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
